Devon Energy World Headquarters – Envelope Design
Devon Energy’s iconic headquarters—a three-sided, 50-story glass tower atop a six-story podium—adds 1.9 million square feet (176,516 square metres) of office space to Oklahoma City’s skyline.
Our team delivered comprehensive façade and envelope design consulting for this project, spanning both design and construction. During the design stage, we reviewed details and recommended strategies to mitigate water penetration, vapor diffusion, air leakage, and thermal performance risks. We collaborated on the enclosure design to reduce in-cloud icing enhance safety, and we interpreted wind tunnel studies to establish structural criteria for the building’s prominent glass fins and decorative metal tubing.
In construction, we verified continuity of air/water barriers across complex system interfaces, developed testing protocols, and attended laboratory and field tests for curtain wall systems. Periodic site observations and quality assurance confirmed the exterior cladding, glazing, and roofing met stringent performance requirements.
Now complete, this LEED-NC Gold certified tower features a glass-enclosed rotunda with a glazed dome-shaped oculus and a cable-supported glazed wall that creates a dramatic entry for employees and visitors. The result? An enduring symbol of innovation that defines the Oklahoma City skyline.
