Electricity—we don’t function well without it. And with the population growth in Virginia outpacing the nation, more electricity is being required daily. Dominion Virginia Power (DVP) is committed to meeting its customers’ energy needs and maintaining a clean environment. To help accomplish these objectives, they turned to us to help avoid, minimize, and mitigate any adverse environmental impacts from their operations.
Under two on-call contracts for DVP, we have executed over 150 projects since 1994. The current, renewed contract includes direct oversight of $1 million in environmental and engineering tasks including natural resource inventories, wetland delineations, mitigation planning for wetland impacts, permit document preparation and support, agency coordination, erosion and sediment control planning, stormwater permitting, analysis of routing alternatives, construction access routing and permitting, cultural resources studies and graphical product support including AutoCAD design and GIS services. We’ve performed these services simultaneously for multiple transmission line corridors ranging in size from two to 60 miles, in multiple locations throughout the Commonwealth.
