Providing the Navy with buildings that suit their unique mission

With the Navy’s long-term plan to expand, consolidate, and demolish aging facilities to improve support for training at Joint Expeditionary Base (JEB) Little Creek-Fort Story, we were there to help. Our team assisted with the design of a new explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) consolidated operations and logistics facility, a logistics and storage building, a building addition, and full building renovations of three supporting facilities.

This is a design-build, LEED Silver project on a major naval installation. Located within a secure area, it meets stringent AT/FP requirements, provides administrative and industrial work areas, and includes new roads and parking, new utilities, and robust interior design. The project includes a multi-facility complex constructed in a site constrained area amongst on-going mission critical operations. Stantec was the lead architect for the entire design-build portion of the project, working closely with the design-build contractor and Navy personnel throughout the entire design process.

Our design team integrated sustainable design principles into many areas of this project to achieve a minimum silver certification under the U.S. Green Building Council LEED for new construction. The project will satisfy the federal guiding principles for sustainable new construction and major renovations.
