Showcasing the benefits of recreational investment
For decades, Cooper City ran an incredibly successful community recreation program. However, the City parks were operating over maximum capacity in striving to serve the expanding community. When the City received a donation of land from a large-scale residential development to build the Flamingo West Park, our team was there to help bring it to life.
Flamingo West Park features four state-of-the-art artificial turf soccer fields with a custom-designed press box. The fields include shaded bleacher seating, a restroom and concession building, and fencing and ball netting around all fields to improve safety. The park also includes a playground, exercise equipment, additional shelters, and a solar power system. An extensive walking path surrounds a two-acre lake and over three acres of wetlands mitigation area, complete with a fishing dock and picnic facilities. We provided master planning, design services, and construction oversight for the new facility and met an expedited schedule ahead of a bond referendum looking to fund significant improvements to existing City parks.
With this new park, Cooper City created a recreational facility that eased the strain on other parks while showcasing the benefits of funding these community hubs.
