Golden Glades Interchange Improvements

The Golden Glades Interchange provides connectivity to six major principal arterials and limited access expressway facilities. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 6 set out to improve travel along the interchange and provide a direct connection ramp from SR 826/Palmetto Expressway eastbound to I-95 northbound. They selected our team to supply transportation design and engineering services for this effort.

Some crucial features of the project scope included refining movement southbound along the Florida’s Turnpike to I-95 southbound as well as enhancing multimodal use for both transit and freight. We also helped improve safety, mobility, circulation, and emergency access along the interchange. Additional elements of the project included seven new bridges, retaining and sound walls, lighting, utilities plans, signalization, signing and pavement markings, and intelligent transportation system (ITS) implementation.

Today, travelers along the Golden Glades Interchange enjoy safer, more efficient travel as the head to their destinations through Florida and beyond.
