Grant Thornton is the world’s sixth largest accounting and advisory firm, specializing in audit, tax, and advisory services to dynamic organizations in the market. When it came time for the firm to relocate their corporate headquarters in Chicago, Illinois, they engaged us to help execute their vision of creating a ‘wow’ space for their employees as well guests.

The firm needed a space that reflects their Chicago beginnings while nodding to the global brand, a space that attracts new talent while supporting the current talent. After analyzing the existing workplace culture through focus groups, surveys, and strategic planning for the future, we helped Grant Thornton reduce the square foot allocation by 40% and add a conference center, work cafes, and open team areas.

Designed under LEED Gold standards, the 156,000-square-foot, five-story fit-out benefits from a strong street presence—unique for a professional services firm in Downtown Chicago—and reflects their global brand identity and corporate values. A dynamic 30-foot atrium creates an inviting and visually-interactive experience that sparks the global brand message that is carried throughout their office, executive suite, and 17,000-square-foot conference center.
