Promoting diverse work settings to foster collaboration at this bustling New York office
New York-based marketing giant Gyro engaged our team of designers to help create a contextual design reflective of their brand as well as manifest a cohesive environment for their young, dynamic office.
After stepping off the elevator and entering the reception/lounge area, staff and guests are greeted with several banquettes and a super-graphic installation of Gyro’s main mantra: “Ignite Something,” embedding some inspiration throughout the workday. Adjacent to reception, staff can enjoy a large pantry/breakout space fully equipped with counter-height farm table communal seating.
Our primary goal was to promote diverse work settings that could foster collaboration. How? Breaking up the long, skinny floorplate into different zones did the trick. We centralized an informal lounge with a fireplace and coffee bar in the floor plan, cultivating casual staff collisions for interaction and impromptu meetings. Surrounding this space is the main studio area, with 84 bench-style desks and a breakout lounge, and the “client-focused” area, including conference rooms and the main presentation room called “The Ignition Room.”
With this interior design, Gyro’s brand is an integral part of their day and employees and clients can take advantage of the new, collaboratively-focused spaces.
