Navigating through complexity while maintaining existing operations
When Hackensack Meridian Health needed help ensuring a smooth transition as they expanded their Emergency Department (ED), they sought our project management team to help. Our job? To navigate through the complexity of relocating the ED, while maintaining existing operations.
The 32,000 square foot expansion is a new addition, and will be vertically expandable to accommodate additional bed floors in the future. It will contain 35 private patient bays, swing space with capacity for pediatric care, and a new imaging equipment dedicated to the Emergency Center.
In addition to the patient care area enhancements, the facility will also feature an enlarged ambulance arrival area that can accommodate up to six ambulances simultaneously, and a new walk-in arrival with dedicated parking for the emergency department. As part of the project, our team is also facilitating the relocation of the hospital main entrance, which will feature an enlarged lobby and cosmetic upgrades to the hospital’s main hallways.
Our team is currently overseeing the project, working as the owner’s representative. This includes managing a phased schedule, intricate budget planning, active communication with the facilities management team, as well as forecasting future needs. The project is anticipating completion during the fourth quarter of 2021.
