Improving the travel conditions for people headed to the summer island destinations of Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard
Vacationers hoping for a smooth start to their trip will get that and more at the Hyannis Ferry Terminal. Those bound for the summer island destinations of Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard can now wait for, and board, a new high-speed ferry boat smoothly, safely, and comfortably thanks to improvements we designed.
The Steamship Authority (SA), a long-time client of ours, recently added a passenger ferry boat to serve vacationers. To accommodate this new service, the SA asked our team to design a dedicated slip (a docking facility to receive ferries) with a passenger drop-off area. Working within a very short deadline, we created two spacious ferry slips, a vehicle transfer bridge, and a large handicap-accessible floating dock.
We also led the project’s major site improvements on land (better traffic circulation, landscaping, site lighting, storm drainage, and fueling system). For passengers, this means a smooth ride from the terminal all the way to their final destination.
