Hyla Flue Gas Scrubber System (Freeport McMoran)

For this project, Stantec will be in charge of a feasibility study, cost estimation, permitting support, FEED, detail engineering and design, and construction support to install two new steam generators and a flue gas desulfutrization plant adjacent to the steam generators. These facilities were installed to minimize buildup of acid gases in the reservoir, burning the produced gas in steam generators and treating the flue gas FGD unit.

The FGD unit consisted of an SO2 scrubber system followed by a wet electrostatic precipitator, to minimize the emissions associated to the steam generators.
