Intermountain Health wanted to add a children’s hospital to their care network in Utah County, one of the fastest-growing areas in the country. They engaged us to design an acute care children’s teaching hospital—the Primary Children’s Hospital—at their Miller Family Campus in Lehi.
We provided master planning, architecture, healthcare planning, interior design, and branding and experiential graphic design services. Our design for the hospital includes family and child amenities, diagnostic services, pediatric emergency care, inpatient units, pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, and behavioral health. The campus also features an ambulatory care center housing a range of pediatric specialties.
Inspired by Utah's diverse landscapes, we celebrated the state's natural beauty on each one of the five floors—lake, desert, alpine, sky, and space—through interior finishes and experiential graphic design. Whimsical elements, such as fish inlays, paw prints, and regional terrain graphics, invite kids and teens to engage and enjoy moments of discovery.
Designed to serve family and community needs in Utah County, the Primary Children’s Hospital will support community-based care, allowing Intermountain Health to prioritize the wellness of patients as well as employees.
