Stantec is part of the team working on the Virginia Department of Transportation construction engineering inspections (CEI) on two projects located in Norfolk and Virginia Beach.

For the first project, Interchange Improvements at Rte. 264 Ramp, our team is providing construction engineering/inspection services for new bridge construction, retaining walls and sound barrier construction, grading, drainage, utilities, pavement, environmental permit compliance inspections. The approximate construction cost for this project is $152 million dollars. For the second project, I-264/Witchduck Road Interchange & Ramp Extension, we are providing construction engineering/inspection services for grading, drainage, utilities, asphalt pavement, new bridge construction, widening of existing bridge structures, retaining wall construction, and environmental permit compliance inspections. The project consists of constructing a second exit lane, widening a ramp, and introducing a new two-lane and a new two-lane flyover ramp. The approximate construction cost for this project is $6.6 million dollars. 

Upon completion, these projects will provide additional capacity, reduce daily congestion, and improve safety and traffic operations in the corridor.
