A $479M master plan forges a long-lasting relationship with Main Line Health

In 2013, the design of a $479M master plan at Lankenau Medical Center campus forged a lasting relationship between Stantec and Main Line Health. Not only did the project run smoothly, but we gained a familiarity with the campus and Main Line Health gained confidence in our team. So, when the health system envisioned expanding and renovating their existing emergency department at the same site, they thought of our team to help manage the project.

Our project management team is acting as the owner’s representative for the Health System, coordinating all aspects from schedule and budget, to land-use approvals, permitting, and the oversight of all team consultants. The first phase of the project will expand the emergency department by 32,200 square feet and will include a new parking garage with easy-patient access. Phase two will renovate the existing space to give a fresh look to the full department.

The project will allow the campus to provide it’s growing community essential emergent services while maintaining the highest standard of care as a level II trauma center. The existing emergency department welcomes around 54,000 patients a year, even though the facility is built to only handle 35,000 patients. The completed facility will allow for up to 73,000 patients per year.
