We’re working with the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) in Connecticut to provide water distribution and wastewater collection services through an on-call contract. The MDC is a specially chartered municipal corporation that includes the municipalities of Hartford, Bloomfield, East Hartford, Newington, Rocky Hill, West Hartford, Wethersfield, and Windsor. Since we’re a firm known to successfully tackle projects of varying magnitude, the MDC turned to us for task orders that range from large to small endeavors. We provide numerous services under this contract.
An example of one project we worked on is the Hockanum River Bridge Water Main Replacement project. We designed specialty structural supports for a 20-inch water main replacement that penetrated existing bridge abutments—MDC approached us for this specialty design based on our performance on a recent project. Other MDC project or task orders have included large diameter transmission mains and sewer rehab and replacement of old brick combined sewers, using both open trench and trenchless methods. We’ve also worked on small diameter, 15-inch and smaller, water replacement and sewer rehabilitation.
Our team regularly has multiple orders or projects on-going at any given time with the MDC, and we strive to meet the client’s budget and schedules for each one.
