Can a workplace establish common ground among different departments? MIT’s new offices at One Broadway bring together three MIT international initiatives with distinct identities and program needs. By providing a variety of private, shared, and team offices coupled with large break-out and conference spaces, the layout enables expansion or contraction as each group’s needs evolve. Efficient lounge-to-lab-to-conference environments and multi-functional furniture and casework ensure that the space accommodates the dynamic range of space needs of diverse user groups. The complex layering of unique materials, bold lighting and traditional Russian motifs unifies the design and culture.
