Baumhaus Apartments

Situated on the edge of re-development efforts in the East Pittsburgh community, this project introduces a dynamic, modern look to the neighborhood along Baum Boulevard.

This 127-unit, seven-story luxury apartment building is comprised of 31 efficiently designed fully furnished micro-studios and micro-suites, as well as a mix of one, two and three-bedroom conventional units over two level subsurface parking and topped with occupied roof garden. Our team guided the developer through the fast-track process so that the excavation and foundations could be construction in tandem with final building design. We coordinated design, building systems and utilities with local jurisdictions from the design development phase through construction administration. Each suite size engages a minimalist approach to city living, whether it’s a micro-unit or a three bedroom. Clean, subtle fixtures are supported by simple finishes, and clear spans of the concrete structure above offers a visual cue connecting the dweller to the fabric of the building.

Now complete, the building integrates private and social spaces. The result? A rich living environment that creates opportunities for people to connect and interact.
