O’Shaughnessy Distillery

For their new distillery, O’Shaughnessy set out to redevelop the site of a historic, abandoned brick potato manufacturing facility, located next to an environmental superfund site. O’Shaughnessy engaged us to provide multiple consulting services to help them achieve their vision and assist with environmental cleanup.

Our services included environmental testing, remediation, and coordination with geotechnical and contractor partners to prepare the site for redevelopment. We offered solutions for environmental concerns, barriers to accommodating modern planning requirements, and engineering constraints. Additionally, we provided topographic survey and platting services to prepare the project for construction the new building.

Along with environmental cleanup, we provided civil engineering design services for the exterior site layout, utilities, and a sustainable stormwater management system to meet code requirements and the project’s specialty needs. The stormwater system provides an underground infiltration practice that aids in stormwater pollution removal, replenishes groundwater sources, and cools process discharge water from the distillery.

The O’Shaughnessy Distillery is one of the latest projects in the Malcolm District that has provided new life to this area, attracting residents and tourists alike to experience O’Shaughnessy’s flagship whiskey, Keeper’s Heart, which brings together the best of Irish and American whiskey.
