Reducing emissions from energy consumption in manufacturing creates benefits to the environment and the bottom line
As companies face increased regulatory and operational costs associated with Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, reducing emissions from energy consumption ultimately results in greater efficiency, tangible cost savings, and a cleaner environment.
Working with a large chemical manufacturer, we conducted an initial energy audit of one of their manufacturing facilities. Our experts identified energy conservation measures (ECMs) with payback periods ranging from immediate to four years. Seeing the benefits of our audits, the company asked us back to conduct audits at eight more of their manufacturing facilities. We identified an average of 10 ECMs per facility. Our surveys showed the company how saving on energy allows investment in further efficiencies throughout an operation.
Based on Stantec’s detailed feasibility analyses and technical guidance, the company implemented six ECMs at various facilities. We are proud to support our clients’ efforts to reduce emissions and improve the environment in the communities they serve.
