Reinforcing the Safeway brand in Pleasanton, California

Stantec and Safeway: partners for over a decade. We started working together in 2000, when we developed the prototype fueling design for Safeway based in Pleasanton, California. This included the fuel system, kiosk, and signage prototypes. The design was so well received that we were asked to help them expand it throughout their network of stores.

Basing our design on the prototype, we deliver site specific design and handle permitting for multiple Safeway fueling sites in Arizona, Alaska, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. We’ve also completed a number of sites in Canada. To date we’ve completed over 60 fuel centers.

The fuel program standards developed include stickbuilt kiosk plans, typical canopy/pump block plans, UST details and equipment specifications, preferred site layout standards, and a sign hierarchy policy.

We recently updated the existing criteria plans and specifications, and converting those updates into Revit format. A recommended architectural hierarchy was compiled for distribution to the various Safeway regions, helping set the stage for continued success.
