A full-service interior design project supporting a brand’s heritage

Sacramento Natural Foods Co-Op

Growth, and the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op’s success drove the need to create a new, larger home in the city’s Midtown neighborhood for the popular enterprise. We were originally brought in to assist with a small scope of design services. However, the Co-op team was so impressed by our passion and desire that the project reflect their organization’s unique culture that our involvement grew from paint color selection to a full-service interior design.

Working closely with the Co-op, we sought a homey vibe in delicate balance with a modern and updated space that pays homage to farmers and reflects the importance of community interaction. To achieve this, we collaborated not only with the Co-op, but also with the project architects, vendors, and even equipment manufacturers, to infuse every element with the Co-op’s distinct brand.

The collaborative effort yielded design features reflecting the Co-op’s community-minded values while achieving its practical business goals. For example, our designers identified opportunities to enhance the enlarged dining/café area and expand the upper mezzanine to allow for additional community meeting areas. As a result, the store has become a gathering place in the community and a destination for locals for lunch and dinner. And overall, the Co-op has reported a significant increase in sales.
