Supporting a village by securing almost $8.5 million in grants and low interest loans
Stantec worked with the Village of Hamden on the design of sanitary sewers and a wastewater treatment plant, as well as on their water system.
The Village of Hamden was operating a public water system that had served well beyond its expected design life. Following a 48 percent increase to the cost of water from the City of Wellston, the village decided it was time to eliminate the existing water loss of 30 to 50 percent, which was further increasing the overall cost of the aging system. The project involved addressing EPA water quality violations, eliminating water loss, and improving the economic development of the area for future growth. The failing system was initially constructed about 70 years ago. The deterioration of the entire system allowed for immense water loss at nearly every turn.
Stantec also actively supported the village in securing almost $8.5 million in grant and low interest loans to finance these improvements.
