Inspired by Shanghai’s rich Art Deco heritage, Shanghai Village (Yi Ou Lai Shanghai) offers clients a destination retail experience with a carefully curated selection of leading international and Asian luxury fashion brands. Located adjacent to the Shanghai Disney Resort, Shanghai Village is an important element of the Chinese Government’s world-class $5.5 billion master plan for the Shanghai International Tourism and Recreation Zone.
Shanghai’s historic “Bund District”, France’s iconic “Promenade de la Croisette”, and historic World Exhibitions throughout Europe and North America inspire the master plan and architecture. The development is conceived as a series of eight pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods which break down the scale of the 1.5 million square foot development. Tasked with unifying the built and landscape elements, our environmental graphics design team wove signage, architectural materials and embellishments, and common area amenities to deliver a retail village setting unmatched in quality. Intricately designed buildings, authentic materials and custom craftmanship fully immerse patrons in the art deco traditions of major world cities such as New York, Paris, Milan and Vienna, as well as, Shanghai’s own Hai Pai style. The cohesive, yet varied and rich set of details, creates a unique retail environment where each shopping, dining, and public space has its own, distinguishable feel.
With its immersive experience, broad offering of domestic and international luxury retailers, and beautiful lakeside setting, Shanghai Village is on track to become one of the more important luxury shopping destinations in the world.
