Sharp Copley Regional Consolidated Lab

Sharp HealthCare was looking to consolidate their existing San Diego lab locations into one primary location comprising of clinical laboratories, administrative offices, and a call center. In coordination with McCarthy Buildings, FPBA Architects, and equipment providers, we were engaged to provide electrical and communications services.

One key factor for our success was coordinating meetings to continually refine power distribution. For future lab modifications, we introduced Vista—a reliable flexible column for power and cable lines—which would allow the client to re-route power distribution to different locations. This agile and flexible power design not only benefits the client cost wise, but also allows room for change as they can move power lines and cables easily without shifting lab equipment. Our team also provided quality assurance and quality control analysis of all work, coordinating to cross-reference all aspects of mechanical and plumbing which also included power distributions to elevators.

Our design team was continuously on site providing the electrical contractor oversight and direction on how to implement the power lines and design plan properly. Ultimately, we provided flexible and innovative solutions with cost in mind.
