Lee County Port Authority (LCPA) saw untapped potential in the site around Southwest Florida Airport (RSW) and partnered with Cushman & Wakefield to attract targeted investment. Cushman & Wakefield brought in our team to lead planning, design, engineering, and permitting for the property’s future development known as Skyplex.
Skyplex is envisioned as a regional hub for logistics, innovation, and advanced industries. We set out to proactively prepare the site by developing a conceptual plan grounded in market-based research on demand and absorption across industries. This planning framework supports the securing of local, state, and federal permits, which is key to making the site shovel-ready and accelerating leasing timelines.
By transforming Skyplex from a passive site into a strategic, investment-ready destination, LCPA and Cushman & Wakefield can market the property confidently, with a realistic land use strategy and a strong permitting path that aligns with economic drivers. A new tenant, Arthrex, has recently leased 48 acres (19 hectares) for a logistics center.
