Upon completion, drivers are now alerted to the roundabout with new, advanced signage. New, brighter LED lighting further indicates the roundabout’s presence and increases safety. Landscaping in the center island helps direct and control sightlines. Roundabouts have the main benefit of “calming” traffic—the slower speeds can also reduce the severity of crashes that may occur by up to 82 per cent according to the Federal Highway Administration.
Further enhancing safety at the roundabout are pedestrian and bicyclist features along the roadway.
