Design for a modern, patient-centered clinic that highlights the importance of water to the community

Straub Medical Center Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Clinic

Hawaii Pacific Health System wanted to extend their offerings into new neighborhoods, bringing new healthcare options to the Kahala community in Honolulu. Their focus was to provide patients with primary care outpatient services and an urgent care with extended hours.

Stantec’s local architects and engineers were chosen to help Hawaii Pacific Health bring their vision for the new Straub Clinic to life. With an emphasis on patient experience, we built the design around health and wellness. Integrating high ceilings and encouraging natural lighting in waiting areas, we created an open and inviting environment for patients. The design also features an easy-to-navigate facility, making it easy for guests visiting a stressful environment. In addition to providing to patients with a much-needed care facility for critical use, our careful design choices created a space that is safe, open, and inviting—all elements the team considers vital to healing spaces.

The Straub Clinic now offers family practice medicine, behavioral health, and orthopedic services, including pediatrics—the designed facilities include 20 exam rooms, a large procedure room, digital X-ray facilities, and clinical lab services.
