Our team was contracted by Alice Hyde Medical Center to provide fundamental and enhanced commissioning services for the new construction of a skilled care and assisted living facility in Malone, New York. The facility provides advanced care while providing residents with a homelike atmosphere designed to promote privacy and dignity.
The two-building complex contains 135 skilled nursing beds and 30 assisted living beds. The two-story assisted living portion of the building is a modular-type construction consisting of resident rooms, a dining room, a living room, and staff support spaces. The three-story skilled care portion of the complex is comprised of private resident rooms, dining rooms, living rooms, spas, a beauty salon, physical therapy areas and offices for nurses and support staff. Mitigating the varying space needs of a modular layout was a unique parameter, but one that was navigated professionally and efficiently by commissioning efforts.
Systems and equipment that our team provided these services on included rooftop units, makeup air units, unit heaters, exhaust fans, boilers, pumps, domestic hot water system, and interior lighting controls. Our team remained involved in the project all the way through a post-occupancy warranty phase review. The Alice Center now serves the area’s assisted living needs with dignity and comfort.
