The Chemours Company Worldwide Headquarters - Design Services

The Chemours Company, a global leader in titanium technologies, fluoroproducts, and chemical solutions, engaged our team to transform their workplace within the historic DuPont Building in Wilmington, Delaware. The goal was to create a transparent, collaborative vertical campus that reflects Chemours’ global brand while celebrating the character and heritage of an iconic structure.

Supporting approximately 800 employees across 10 floors and more than 260,000 square feet (24,155 square metres), the workplace was reimagined through an intensive, data-driven engagement process. We partnered with senior leaders, functional teams, and associates across the organization to understand work styles, performance needs, and future aspirations. Through surveys, participatory workshops, and in-depth workplace studies, the design vision took shape as a reflection of Chemours’ values of simplicity, transparency, and integrity.

Designing within an occupied, aging building presented both challenges and opportunities. Our approach focused on opening perimeter spaces, raising ceilings, and using glass to increase access to natural daylight while highlighting the building’s historic architectural details. Centrally located decorative staircases, supported by flexible collaboration zones, connect employees vertically and encourage interaction across floors.

The result is an efficient, engaging workplace defined by modest elegance—one that strengthens connections, reinforces Chemours’ global identity, and supports a more collaborative and productive way of working within a landmark setting.
