Growing older doesn’t mean giving up on style

Located in Chicago’s upscale Gold Coast neighborhood, The Clare is a luxury retirement residence that supports the urban lifestyle and unique healthcare needs of its residents. In recent years, however, the building's interiors and amenities had become dated and tired, not very befitting of the luxury high-end neighborhood.

Our team contributed the schematic design for The Clare’s fitness center and 17th and 19th floor dining areas. We were engaged to renovate the ground floor lobby, ninth floor Bistro, rooftop garden, and fifty-third floor multi-purpose room—totaling 20,510 square feet of work.

As part of the renovation, The Clare’s concierge desk and mail room were relocated to the ground floor lobby, which was also reconfigured to create a connection to nearby administrative offices and to facilitate a new security program.

We reconfigured the ninth-floor Bistro, expanding its kitchen, and added a convenience store (featuring both refrigerated and non-refrigerated grocery items) over the existing roof terrace. On the 53rd floor, new finishes, a pantry and bar, and an integrated, state-of-the-art audio and video system enhance movie viewing and add to the rich array of amenities offered to residents.

Renovations behind them, The Clare can once again stand shoulder to shoulder with their Gold Coast neighbors.
