Luxury residential tower takes cues from historic Boston theater

QMG Huntington LLC wanted their new 34-story residential tower to not only bring luxury living to Boston’s Fenway neighborhood but also reinvigorate the adjacent historic Huntington Theatre, built in 1925. They reached out to our team to help.

Our design takes inspiration from the 890-seat Huntington Theatre with a façade that evokes Greek drama masks with large gestural massings of opposing light and dark bands that wrap around the exterior. The tower also provides the theatre with a dramatic new entry and lobby as well as retail on the first and second floors. Along with 400 residential units, the building also offers a full floor of amenities including a fitness center, art gallery, home theater, and work-from-home lounge. At the very top, residents can enjoy a sky deck with resident bar and outdoor viewing terrace. The site also includes three levels of below-grade parking with secure and covered areas for bicycle storage.

The Lyra helps create a new landmark while reviving an historic one in Boston’s artistic hub.
