Verizon Media Technology Hub

Verizon built a huge new tech campus in north San Jose where the communications titan employs thousands of people. By building an amenity-rich experience, Verizon blends work, life, and home all into one place—creating a community-oriented lifestyle that’s home to a dynamic live-work-innovate ecosystem for the San Jose community. Their employees also benefit from this conveniently located, transit-oriented development that provides multiple transit options in this sustainable community.

Working with Gensler, the architect of record, we provided the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering services for this important Silicon Valley project. Our MEP services included the core and shell phase—we performed the peer review of the MEP core and shell design drawings on Verizon’s behalf. We also performed services for the tenant improvement fit-out phase that included the MEP lease review, MEP design and construction administration services, and MEP critical systems design that included the generator, uninterruptible power supply units, and computer room air conditioning units.

We provided the MEP design according to the 2019 California Energy Code (Title 24) including the preparation of energy code calculations and Title 24 worksheets required for permitting.
