Weyerhaeuser Headquarters

Weyerhaeuser has been a staple in Washington’s economic landscape for over a century, and in that time, the company has earned a reputation as a pioneer of sustainability. When they decided to move their headquarters from an expansive park in Federal Way to historic Pioneer Square in the heart of downtown, Weyerhaeuser knew that they wanted to bring the peaceful atmosphere of the woods into the city with them.

Our team provided electrical, technology, acoustics, and lighting design for the new office building. Our focus was on creating an environmentally-friendly, comfortable space for employees that prominently features the use of timber. To promote sustainability, the building used wood from the company’s own timber mills as well as hand-picked salvaged materials, diverting more than 75% of its construction waste from landfills. The office also features interconnecting stairs, open alternative workspaces, 12-foot ceilings, and a stunning rooftop deck with a barbecue and ping pong table.

Weyerhaeuser’s new LEED Platinum, brick-building headquarters is surrounded by trees and truly honors the history of Pioneer Square—while staying true to the company’s roots.
