Work on the new Willis Career & Technology Center, Performing Arts Center, and Agricultural Science Center has transformed an aging high school into one unified campus. The old high school had reached capacity, and after discussions with us, the District determined that career and technical education would increase the school’s capacity and provide more opportunities for students—the project was determined as part of the 2015 bond passed by the Willis community.
As prime architect for the new campus, we incorporated flexible learning spaces across three new facilities that foster individual discovery and collaboration among the entire student body. When we saw that the school district needed space for teaching agricultural science, we designed the Career and Technical Education building with the necessary capacity for an Agricultural Science Center. Our campus design also included a Performing Arts Center with a 1,050-seat auditorium.
Our modern, twenty-first century design creates spaces where students can grow and flourish with programming that takes on the future. Now, on this new unified campus, students are exposed to 13 different career pathways, helping them find professional certification or a stepping-stone to further education.
