Hades - Hydraulic Analysis and Design System

Accurate and efficient steady-state hydraulic modelling software

Our Hydraulic Analysis and Design System (Hades) is a software tool that helps engineers design and analyze how water flows through hydraulic structures and control points commonly found in water and wastewater treatment plants and conveyance systems. Hades provides steady‑state hydraulic modelling, showing system behaviour under stable conditions, maintenance, or emergency scenarios. The software supports both free‑surface environments (including open channels, tanks, and partially full pipes) and closed conduits (such as full pipes and culverts), making it well suited to modelling entire process streams.

Hades accurately predicts the flow distribution, head loss, and hydraulic grade lines across a wide range of scenarios. Clear visual outputs and side‑by‑side comparisons help reduce risk and streamline design reviews, allowing engineers to evaluate the impact of design changes, operational decisions, or contingency plans before implementation. Hades supports the delivery of compliant, resilient designs that meet regulatory and sustainability objectives.

Ilkley Integrated Constructed Wetland: Delivering better outcomes with Hades

For the £45 million upgrade of Ilkley Wastewater Treatment Works, our team delivered hydraulic design to support improved water quality in the River Wharfe. Using Hades, we modeled existing and proposed processes to optimize asset use and design a new integrated constructed wetland, increasing capacity while reducing storm overflow impacts through nature‑based solutions.
