Stantec appointed to four major nuclear frameworks in the UK

Stantec, a global leader in sustainable design, engineering, and environmental consulting, has been appointed to four nationally important nuclear professional services frameworks.

• NNB GenCo (Hinkley Point C)
• Sizewell C
• EDF Nuclear Generation
• EDF Nuclear Services

Flexible and integrated support
Two of the four frameworks cover long-term professional services to support the delivery of new nuclear power stations, Hinkley Point C in Somerset and Sizewell C in Suffolk. The latter project now being a separate, standalone entity. At the same time, Stantec’s appointment to the EDF Nuclear Generation Limited Framework will see the firm provide ongoing technical engineering consultancy to EDFs fleet of operating nuclear power stations and those entering defueling. By being placed on the EDF Nuclear Services Framework, Stantec’s teams can engage with EDF’s seconded services model to provide flexible and integrated support for sites across the country.

Collectively, the four Nuclear Family Frameworks position Stantec as an integral technical and advisory partner for the sector, influencing the future of the UK’s nuclear energy infrastructure.

A trusted, long-term partner
All four frameworks span a decade, with an initial five-year term and options to extend for a further five years until 2036. Stantec’s experience will be applied across a range of technical disciplines, including nuclear safety, nuclear regulation, fire safety, environmental services, permitting, marine operations, project and programme management, electrical and mechanical engineering, advisory services, and civil engineering.

Stantec’s offering for the nuclear sector supports both the design, construction, and operation of small and gigawatt-scale nuclear power stations, as well as fuel enrichment, waste management services, and decommissioning. This is backed by its specialist teams, which support the broader ecosystem of infrastructure and services required for major projects.
