May 05, 2026

Canada’s leading defence journal recognizes the firm’s commitment to the Canadian Forces

Canadian Defence Review has released its list of Top 100 Defence Companies in 2026, ranking the most significant companies supporting the Canadian military across industries, including aerospace, manufacturing, and shipbuilding. Stantec moved up six spots to no. 42 and ranks first among architecture, engineering, and design firms.

Stantec has completed work on 16 National Defence and Canadian Forces bases across Canada and is currently supporting projects that advance national sovereignty from coast to coast to coast. The firm designs and delivers major Canadian defence infrastructure projects supporting aviation, training and simulation, naval systems, and cybersecurity, among others.

“This recognition reflects the hard work of our team, who are committed to delivering the high-quality, resilient, and sustainable infrastructure critical to Canada's sovereignty,” said Rob Dumaresq, Canada Federal market lead, Stantec. “With strong regional presence across Canada, we are uniquely positioned to support Canada's Armed Forces with multidisciplinary services, including in the most complex and demanding environments such as the Arctic.”

Current key projects include the Strategic Tanker Transport Capability Project in Trenton, Ontario; the Canadian Multi-Mission Aircraft Aircraft Maintenance Hangar in Greenwood, Nova Scotia; and the Future Fighter Squadron Facilities in Cold Lake, Alberta and Bagotville, Quebec.
