Gord is vice chair of Stantec’s Board of Directors, providing governance leadership, strategic perspective, and continuity in support of the Board’s oversight and long-term stewardship responsibilities. Previously, he held the position of Stantec’s president and chief executive officer from 2018 to 2026, guiding the company through a period of significant growth, and industry leadership.
With more than 40 years of experience spanning the public and private sectors, Gord has helped shape complex infrastructure projects across North America and around the world. His career has been defined by a commitment to building stronger communities, advancing the profession, and delivering projects that create lasting value.
A lifelong learner, Gord completed executive development programs at Harvard Business School and the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.
His leadership has earned national recognition, including The Globe and Mail’s Report on Business Magazine’s 2025 CEO of the Year and Strategist of the Year awards, as well as the University of Alberta’s 2026 Canadian Business Leader of the Year Award. Throughout his career, he’s also contributed his expertise through service on numerous industry and community boards.
