Enhancing the fan experience

With the strong following of Western Australian rugby and soccer teams playing in national and international leagues, the need for a modern rectangular stadium in Perth was evident. The old Perth Oval, with a history of over a hundred years of different sporting pursuits and now home to the Perth Glory and Western Force as HBF Park, was selected in 2011 for an upgrade to become a purpose-built rectangular field venue.

The project consisted of the removal of the existing temporary east stand and replacing with a new 7,000 seat roofed structure with corporate boxes, toilets, and food and beverage facilities. A new southern stand, new control room, and site wide CCTV were also within the project brief.

Our job? We provided the electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and sustainability services to the project. Working closely with Cox Architects, Venues West, and the Department of Sport and Recreation, our team was able to design the stadium to suit modern facility requirements.

Now, HBF Park can better serve the needs of all the events that Perth needs to field.
