Our agile structural team completed high-end support to deliver on an architectural brief within an operational building

Brookfield Place on St George's Terrace is a significant commercial development in the heart of Perth's central business district. A new tenant in the building, Telstra, required an innovative fit-out for a high-end refurbishment of their office space.

Stantec's structural team worked closely with the architect and client to clarify the developing brief. An interconnecting stair was introduced between Telstra’s two floors, requiring a hole to be cut in the level 17 slab and efforts made to minimise structural intervention within the office space. All construction work was undertaken in an operational and occupied building, so the additional framing required to construct feature walls and accommodate AV equipment was carefully designed to facilitate delivery in manageable sections by the tower’s goods lift to the site.

Upon completion, interconnected floors allow Telstra’s team to operate in synergy. A high impact entrance statement feature stair creates high impact for the team and guests alike upon arrival at inception, welcoming all to an innovative office space.
