To keep dams safe for our communities, our dam specialists provide technical support to address the full spectrum of issues that may be encountered. This includes routine, intermediate, and comprehensive inspections, and allows for various levels of site overview, dam safety instrument review, and reporting.
Our dam safety supporting studies include many facets—from potential impact classifications (dam breach and consequence assessments) and flood studies to seismic studies, failure modes assessments, and other dam safety documents (such as dam safety management and emergency planning).
When it comes to dam safety upgrades, our projects include potential spillway or embankment modifications, seismic hazard and performance advice, and other improvements to dam safety. This could be extended to include structural upgrades or gate/valve improvements, but no matter whether it’s a large or small dam, Stantec has all the bases covered in dam safety.
