Structural Engineering

Reliable, resilient, and beautiful design

Constantly invigorated by the potential of technology, and enthusiastic about creating appealing and strong structures, we’re driven to stretch the boundaries of possibility.

We use advanced analysis and modelling software to get the most out of our designs, and we deliver geotechnical investigations across the scope of all structural design. Whether you’re designing a new city campus, high-rise apartments, a sports facility, a townhouse development, a dam or reservoir, or assessing your bridge assets, we understand how to turn your project into an affordable reality.

We’ve been doing a lot of work on advancing our understanding around the embodied carbon footprint of structures. We’re finding efficiencies, challenging norms, and selecting materials that are sustainable. Operational carbon footprint is important, but the built-in, structural carbon is significant too.

From high-rise apartments to small community developments to water and wastewater or transport infrastructure, as well as large government projects, we challenge ourselves to find the optimal solutions that position our clients for success and draw our communities together in safety, comfort, and sustainability.

A bridge made of recycled plastic bags

The Clive Bridge Shared Path in Hastings is the first of its kind in New Zealand. The 150-metre-long bridge has diverted 4.2 million recycled plastic bags from landfill and turned them into lightweight plastic pavers used to build a shared path for walkers, cyclists, and active modes users. The three-metre-wide footpath is much safer too, separated from traffic and has ambient LED lighting. Read More
