A mechanical engineer and the deputy team lead for our Turbine group, Sam is helping strengthen grid reliability and move renewable energy projects forward one megawatt at a time. He specializes in all aspects of turbines—understanding how they’re designed, how they function, and how to optimize them for our clients’ goals, whether that means maximizing megawatts, supporting grid stability, or meeting economic targets.
Sam’s experience spans all project stages, from initial cost estimates to preparing turbine procurement bidding specifications, reviewing designs of supplier drawings, and preparing drawings and general construction documents. He’s also created detailed risk registers, conducted high-level dam assessments, and managed scheduling of large long-term projects. In addition, he routinely performs detailed inspections of turbine equipment.
Away from work, Sam is a self-proclaimed sports fanatic. Whether it’s supporting his Chicago Bears, Cubs, Bulls, Blackhawks, and Iowa State Cyclones, you can guarantee he has a pulse on the state of his teams.
