Community Engagement

Giving with our community in mind

Stantec in the Community is about supporting those in Stantec who bring their passion about contributing to society to work—helping to build communities of people inside and outside of Stantec who share their interests—and celebrating their achievements.

We provide support for national and local charities through a range of activities which contribute to sustainability and society. A huge range of activities are led by amazing volunteers around the business, making a difference in places where we live and work. We also provide match funding for our people who are donating their skill, time and efforts to raise money or deliver projects for good causes.

Stantec in the Community Week (SITC)

SITC Week is about bringing our hearts and hands together to make a difference by collectively volunteering in the communities we serve. It’s why we design with community in mind. During a worldwide week of community service across the Company, SITC events highlight the local initiatives we are passionate about and the causes we support. Sharing our Stantec spirit doesn’t just happen one week a year, it continues all year long. Our Company and our people invest in communities by donating time, expertise, and funds to many charities.

Stantec in Education

We care passionately about education and the chance that this gives young people to fulfil their potential. We believe that early engagement of employers in schools can significantly benefit student outcomes. We pursue these objectives through our Stantec STEM strategy. Through our work we aim to inspire, inform and prepare young people for careers in the planning, design and delivery of development and infrastructure projects in the built and natural environment.

Stantec in STEM

We also have a large team of enthusiastic Stantec STEM Ambassadors who work extensively to support the uptake of STEM subjects in schools. They work to open up a world of opportunities in engineering and built environment careers to young people who may not have thought that this would be for them.
