In the My Stantec Story series, our designers, engineers, marketers, project managers, and leaders come together to share how their career journeys at Stantec have shaped their lives and moved them closer to their goals.
Tell us about your role…
I'm a senior digital marketing specialist based in our Warrington office. My main focus is promoting our United Kingdom and Ireland offerings to external audiences through all things digital. From managing the UK website and social media presence, to creating videos and podcasts, I'm always on the lookout for new and engaging ways we can tell our people's stories and promote the variety of work we do. No two days are the same in my role, it's always exciting and keeps me on my toes.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
The digital world is constantly evolving; there's always a new tool to learn and evolving algorithms to adapt to. It's crazy to think how much social media has matured since I first started in my role, becoming such an important channel for us to reach our audience. At Stantec, I have the freedom to experiment and find what connects in our region, I love discovering fresh insights and useful statistics that help me understand our audiences better.

"text": "What attracted you to a career at Stantec?
What attracted you to a career at Stantec?
When I graduated from university, I had no industry experience and wasn't sure which avenue to pursue. I discovered Stantec and a role offering the chance to develop my career dabbling in all areas of marketing, and the rest, as they say, is history!
I was also drawn to Stantec's values, particularly its emphasis on embracing our differences. It's wonderful to work for a company where I can be my true self and feel celebrated for it.
How has your personal and professional development been supported at Stantec?
As my career progresses, I have so many ongoing opportunities to explore new avenues, learn new skills and receive support every step of the way. My colleagues in the office and across the UK have a wealth of experience, and I've learned so much from them. I also love being mentored by Stantec's global digital and social media strategy team, who help me build confidence and enhance skills.
I recently became chartered through the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). This was something I had been working towards for a while, and it’s great to achieve that goal.

What has been the standout project for you during your time at Stantec?
One of my most memorable projects was creating and launching a UK focused version of Stantec’s website. I felt very proud to be part of the project which was an exciting and at times challenging experience! Collaborating with our technical people, global marketing teams, and new team members as Stantec grew, together we created a website that showcases our regional specialisms, experience, and solutions in one place. The moment we saw our website's URL go live was truly amazing—it felt great to finally share it with the world.
What are your ambitions for the future at Stantec?
I believe that the key to a successful career lies in enjoying what you do every day. I look forward to continuing to move up the career ladder, perhaps specialising further into a particular area of digital marketing as our channels and my expertise continue to deepen. Wherever my career takes me, I always want to stay excited and energised about the work I do.
What are your passions outside of work?
Family is super important to me and I spend most of my time with them. Aside from that, I enjoy switching off social media and exploring new places, reading about 15th and 16th Century UK history, and experiencing any genre of live music I can. Plus, I'm massively obsessed with pizza.
