The SCOPE: Understanding the Building Safety Act

From competence to culture change, there's a lot to absorb around the Building Safety Act
The SCOPE is a podcast addressing important issues influencing the sustainable future of real estate, infrastructure, the environment, and communities.
In this episode we take an in-depth analysis of the requirements of the Building Safety Act with guests, Owen Edwards, a building control specialist, Jay Morton, director at architects Bell Phillips, and Victoria Checkley, structural and civil engineering director with Stantec.
The panel explain why the level of detail required is proportionate to risk. They discuss what the impact will be from a greater focus on upfront, detailed design, and they explain why Gateway 2 and 3 are not referenced in the Act. They also discuss why it's important to be able to show all your workings-out, just like you did at school!
