Stantec’s Jodie Welch named Young Property Person of the Year at the Eastern Echo Awards

07/12/2022 UNITED KINGDOM TSX, NYSE:STN

Stantec is proud to announce Jodie Welch has won the Young Property Person of the Year Award at the inaugural Eastern Echo Awards.

Jodie joined Stantec in 2021 as a Transport Planner and is currently working on a wide range of high-profile projects spanning the eastern region and further afield. These include the relocation of Marshall Aerospace from Cambridge City Airport to Cranfield Airport, the visionary development of Cambridge East, transformative projects for both Bedfordshire and Cambridge University Hospitals, in addition to a number of smaller-scale schemes.

Almost 200 guests gathered at Homerton College’s new Dining Hall for the awards ceremony, which recognised the success of the East of England’s property market. The event’s charity partner was LandAid and over £3000 was raised to help a local project providing bed spaces for young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

On winning the award, Jodie said: “I’m thrilled to been given this award. All of the nominees are working on such transformative projects for the region and I’m very grateful to be part of such an inspirational group. Since joining Stantec, I’ve been given some amazing opportunities and am supported by a great team and this, in no small way, has led to me winning this award.”

Jodie was a joint recipient of Young property Person of the Year, sharing the award with Will Fayers of Paul Basham Associates.

The judges remarked: “Despite having only joined Stantec last Summer, Jodie has already made a lasting impression on the firm, notably through her STEM work and her social media presence. Her passion for transport planning is evident and she acts as a true ambassador for the profession. This is alongside her day-to-day work where she has already been involved in some major schemes including Peterborough Embankment where she was noted for having an excellent client relationship. Her recent volunteering work with the homelessness charity Jimmy’s in Cambridge is also worthy of note.”
