Youth homelessness and property industry charity, LandAid, has named Stantec its ‘Partner of the Year’ at its inaugural awards ceremony. Stantec’s Jodie Welch, a Transport Planner, was also commended at the event for her ongoing supportive efforts as a LandAid Ambassador.

Stantec, a leader in sustainable design and engineering, has raised more than £44k for LandAid through donations, pro-bono work and fundraising in the last year, while also being involved in the launch of the charity’s co-living initiative that supports the transition of young people experiencing homelessness into accommodation in the UK.

LandAid is on a mission to end youth homelessness in the UK. The organisation donates millions to charities across the nation and is, by 2024, planning to create 1,000 homes for young people.

Cath Schefer, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer said: “At Stantec we have a passion for creating strong and vibrant communities. Through donations, sponsorships, and volunteering, we connect with our communities and help strengthen them in meaningful ways. That is why we are delighted to support LandAid and the future of young people across the UK.”

Simon Darch, Director, Stantec commented: “We are honoured to be named ‘Partner of the Year’ in the inaugural LandAid awards in recognition of the enthusiasm of our staff and the innovative approach we are bringing to their initiatives. This gives us a platform to expand our involvement across all the major office hubs and offer greater support to the work that they deliver in breaking the cycle of youth homelessness in our local communities.”

Jodie Welch, Transport Planner at Stantec added: “I am humbled to be highly commended for my work as a LandAid Ambassador this year. As the first LandAid Ambassador in the Eastern Region, I am proud to have helped grow our network of Ambassadors across Cambridgeshire in just a few months and will continue to promote the growth of the Ambassador network across our national Stantec offices in 2023.”
