Stantec wins two Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation South West Awards

Stantec is proud to announce that it has been named as winner of the Collaboration Award and the Innovation Award at the 2022 Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) South West Awards.

The Collaboration Award recognises those that have shown dedication to working in collaboration with other teams, organisations, and sectors to deliver real solutions, while the award for Innovation celebrates imaginative concepts and continuous improvements in the highways and transportation industry.

Both awards recognised exemplary elements of Stantec’s work on the Gravity project, the state-of-the-art campus being developed at Junction 23 of the M5. As lead consultant, Stantec has provided multi-disciplinary support including planning, project management, environmental services, and hydro and civil engineering services to support the project which will deliver more than 7500 jobs.

Stantec was also awarded highly commended in the Sustainability category and Commended in the Transportation project of the Year.

The winners were announced at the annual awards dinner which was held on 19^th May at Sandy Park, Exeter. Commenting on the success, Alan Swan, Director, Community Development, Stantec, said, “We had a wonderful evening, having been shortlisted for four categories we were thrilled to go on to win two and be recognised in the others. I’m thrilled for our team, it’s great to see our hardworking transport modellers being recognised and rewarded. We’re particularly proud of the collaboration award which is testament to the hard work of the team within Stantec and the external partners as well. A great result for an amazing project.”

The CIHT is a charity, learned society and membership body with 12 UK nations / regions and a number of international groups. The CIHT awards celebrate the best work and projects in highways and transportation across the region. They aim to raise awareness of the outstanding contribution that good projects and people can make to our daily lives.
