Passionate about the role of plan making and policy development in helping to deliver sustainable growth, David focuses on strategic planning and placemaking. He has led the promotion of garden towns and large-scale new communities, sub-regional growth studies, and the production of local plans and joint strategic plans.
David is proficient in viability appraisal with a detailed understanding of deliverability factors affecting statutory plans and development. He possesses a widespread knowledge of the planning system having worked on efforts from scoping through to adoption. He also has experience with supporting clients’ interests at examinations in public on behalf of developers and public bodies.
In his spare time, David volunteers with the Royal Town Planning Institute’s East of England Regional Management Board and Regional Activities Committee. He is committed to delivering continuing professional development training and supports licentiates through the assessment of professional competence. He also enjoys running in the Cambridgeshire countryside, relaxing in a sauna, and the trials and tribulations that come with being a Crystal Palace supporter.
