Photo of Kate

A chartered principal civil engineer, Kate has over 15 years of experience in wastewater networks. She’s successfully led bathing water quality investigations, investigations into the failure of urban stream water quality, as well as research and development projects to identify ways to reduce internal flooding numbers across operational areas.

Kate has been heavily involved in the development and promotion of data collection applications, focusing on the whole life cycle of data from collection through to management and analytics. Recent projects include leading a team to use complex data analytics to assess flood risk at a property level to output a bespoke property card, capturing the history of issues and tracking investigations, and finally implementing a solution. An automated decision process enabled an efficient method to target sewer rehabilitation works in the most high-risk areas to reduce or mitigate flood and pollution risk.

In addition, Kate is an active STEM ambassador and dedicates her spare time to promote STEM-related careers to school children of all ages.
